Once, long ago (or perhaps long from now), two friends met across a great divide. In their respective tragedies did they find triumph, for across countless centuries did tragedy bring them together.

The Many Quips of Rulatani is a collection of short tales about an uncommon friendship between predator and prey as the two navigate a once-familiar world, now new. Bunzoi offers these tales as food for thought, in the hopes that there may be something within for any who partake to travel home with.

Rulatani's quips are published first on Facebook, then added to the archives below, where they are presented in order to date. Enjoy.

The passage of seasons is a more orderly affair in the world of Rulatani and Quip. One could speculate on the reasons for this. Is it a time before mankind, long after, or a world upon which we have never tread? Time will tell, but for now dates can be identified by the following notations:

Vendru (Spring): 70 days
Hapsan (Summer): 105 days
Lalen (Autumn): 70 days
Subotal (Winter): 105 days
Total days in a solar year: 350

Days are, of course, an approximation, but these are the general times in which the Great Mother tends to tire of her current wardrobe and opts to change it. The concept of 'month' is irrelevant in favor of the overall season, thus the 32nd day of summer in the year 1241 is expressed on the common calendar as "Hapsan 32, 1241". Sometimes the date is expressed in terms of the 'old' and 'new' calendars, which serve as a common middling point during the apex of the last great Age of Ice. Many sapient species honor one or more equinoxes in celebration.
